I. A. Melchuk

"Course of general morphology" is a compendium of current knowledge in the field of natural language morphology. The object of it is the word - in all its semantic, formal and combinatorial aspects. For a description of the properties and behavior of words in the languages of the Earth developed a deductive system of strict concepts, covering all areas of morphology. Based both on its own findings of 30 years of research of the author, and the available publications, "Course" is quite unique publication: in the linguistic literature there is no work on the morphology of such coverage. Fifth and final, that allows you to see the functioning of the concepts introduced in practice - in the existing morphological models of specific languages. These models are put in the corresponding grammatical tasks expressing their word forms. After models- theoretical description of their components, devices and the types of rules and levels of representation - offered models of Spanish verb conjugations, Hungarian declension of nouns (with the possessive form) and a fragment of verb conjugations in the African language Bafia. The increasing complexity of those aspects of morphology is simultaneously an incentive to search for decision support and a touchstone of their practical test. In the final part of the book articulates the general methodological principles that can guide the linguist in his studies. The book is intended for linguists of all disciplines and can be used as a teaching tool for students of philological universities.
